Having served in the human resources industry for nearly two decades, I’m constantly seeking new and innovative events that emphasize problem solving and community building. And with hundreds of traditional conferences to choose from, it can be difficult to get past the hype and determine the best use of your limited time and budget.
In my opinion, a truly appealing event emphasizes a participant driven approach. I want to hear people debating, challenging and rewarding one another in every session. I want to spend quality time together and build lasting and personal relationships. I want to have fun. I want to think… and I mean really, really think. I want to leave with a sense that the conversations will continue well after the name badge hits the recycling bin.
Then, I want to do it all over again.
I was fortunate enough to be an attendee and session leader during last year’s inaugural HRevolution event. It was fantastic and you can read my thoughts on it here. This year I’ve stepped it up a notch and joined the planning committee for what is sure to be the buzz worthy event of the year.
Welcome to HRevolution 2010! Scheduled for May 7th and 8th, HR thought leaders and practitioners from around the world will be converging on the Windy City for what will prove to be a memorable and unique experience. This event is limited to 110 attendees so be sure to register ASAP!
HRevolution will be held at the Catalyst Ranch, one of Chicago’s premier event locations and centrally located with easy access to hotels, restaurants, and nightlife. Catalyst Ranch is known for bringing a level of fun and sophistication to events that is unparalleled. I was sold when fellow committee member Jason Seiden told me we’d have Play-Doh for all the attendees. Yes, Play-Doh. How we’ll be incorporating that “feature” into the day remains to be seen, but I’m certain this will not be the only surprise.
To keep up to speed on session leaders, track topics, preferred hotel discounts and the ever-popular evening Tweetup, be sure to bookmark the HRevolution Website on your browser.
So what do you think? Does this sound like a compelling use of your time? I hope to see you there. Be sure to register now and let’s keep the conversation going.

Can’t wait for this year’s event – it truly will be bigger, better, more ‘play-doughy’ than the first one!
Love the Play-Doh idea. Have some on my desk at all times! Great initiative and hope to join the HRevolution 2010. Great topics, reasonable cost, and wonderful location. Thanks, Mark.
Think they have bacon flavored Play-Doh?
